Sustainability
At the Chancery sustainability is much more than just a buzz word – it’s a credo that informed the construction of the hotel from the ground up. It’s a belief that influenced our decision making – from choosing fixtures and fittings to approaching how we wanted the hotel to function on a day-to-day basis.
Feedback from industry professionals and city promoters has been overwhelmingly positive, with many noting that the design, construction & delivery of the hotel reflects current trends and meets the expectations of Dublin’s visitors. The Chancery Hotel’s commitment to sustainability and bespoke design sets it apart from other hotels, offering guests a truly unique and eco-friendly experience.
Sustainability
Water Recycling
Some examples of our commitment include – the development of a ‘grey water’ recovery system for the flushing of toilets. Those toilets, along with showers and taps, meet the highest standards for water efficiency.
They are serviced only with certified environmentally friendly cleaning products. The hotel is also fossil-fuel-free – we don’t use natural gas.
Sustainability
Noise and Sound Management
The hotel has added in additional acoustic & noise prevention/mitigation measures designed in & constructed in the structure and will ensure it maintains an above average benchmarking with 50 dB for noise pollution. Ensuring our guests are not disturbed and get a good night’s sleep!
Sustainability
Building
Latest technology and state of the art MEP services have been meticulously designed and installed creating not only a very cost-efficient running hotel with the added benefit in a vast reduction in C02 emissions through the life cycle of the hotel operations. Also self-generating our own electricity via PV generation assists in the sustainable model we promote & operate.
The incorporation of micro master smart switching & presence sensing technology results in heating, cooling & lighting only operating when required & guests being present in the bedrooms/hallways etc.
The hotel also considered the end-of-life impact of the furniture and has plans in place for possible upcycling. This not only reduces waste but also contributes to the hotel’s sustainability efforts.
Sustainability
Furnishings
The hotel has committed to all finishes & furnishings being used are from sustainable & certified providers and this includes and ensures the quality with the use of real wood throughout the hotel.
Our commitment to being a sustainable hotel continues in all areas of the building and this can be seen with the use of local reclaimed Dublin granite & Connemara marble being laid both internally and externally.
