We are proud to be welcomed into the local community and to have partnered with the local National College of Art and Design’s aspiring new artists to showcase the history of the vibrant and eclectic area of Dublin through art. These inspirational pieces tell an exciting story of Dublin through the ages from the eyes of the artist and can be seen throughout the hotel.

Jennifer Mongey Balfe
Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Jennifer Mongey Balfe

Employee Position:  Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Jennifer Mongey Balfe is an Irish Illustrator and Graphic Designer. Her practice juxtaposes fundamental design with handmade processes – searching for the balance between the natural and the constructed.

With a deep interest in letter-form, illustration and colour, her work is versatile in its ability to take on many physical and digital shapes.

Wall Print – Cervi

Nowadays, fish and chip shops in Dublin are bustling hubs of culinary delight, offering a taste of comfort and tradition to locals and visitors alike. Cervi began serving fish and chips with his wife from a stall on Pearse Street. The name of Cervi would eventually adorn a shop there, advertising their much-beloved food, and where the familiar phrase ‘one and one’ would originate.

Graphic Designer

Eimear O’Keane

Employee Position:  Graphic Designer

Eimear O Keane is a Graphic Designer with a BA Honours from the National College of Art & Design (NCAD).

Her practice explores history and the Irish language, with a curious and experimental approach that prioritises the creation of vibrant and emotive designs through storytelling.

She is drawn to textures that occur naturally within nature and the landscape, which are applied to her digital work to give it life.

Wall Print – Little Ship St.

Dublin’s little Italy community was made up of artisans, street vendors, and talented organ grinders that frequented the streets of Dublin. Their street act often included the help of their white-headed capuchin monkey which would attract the attention of the public.

Brandon O’Rourke
Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Brandon O’Rourke

Employee Position:  Illustrator and Graphic Designer

Brandon O’Rourke is a Dublin-based Illustrator and Graphic Designer known for his vibrant and humorous artwork.

Collaborating with clients from around the globe, Brandon brings a touch of fun and color to a wide range of projects, including logos, posters, merchandise, and murals.

With a strong eye for detail and storytelling, he creates work intended to entertain. Brandon graduated from the National College of Art & Design with a BA Honours in 2020.

Wall Print – Misneach

The struggle for universal female suffrage – full voting rights for women – was taken up with characteristic zeal and bravery by many Irish women. In the first decade of the 20th century prominent feminist and polemicist Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington was at its forefront. She and her kind blazed a trail still visible today.
