Irish Museum of Modern Art

What is the IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art

IMMA is home to the National Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art, with over 3,500 artworks by Irish and International artists. Housed in the beautiful buildings and gardens of what was formerly The Royal Hospital, the collection is firmly rooted in the present with important contemporary works added each year. There is particular emphasis on work from the 1940s onwards, but regularly changing exhibitions mean that there is always something new on display. The stables to the rear of the property house artists-in-residence and we particularly love the recently restored formal gardens. With an excellent gift shop and café on site, and a programme of music, tours, screenings and more this is one of our favourite places to visit in the city, and only a 30minute stroll from The Chancery Hotel.
